Youth handed over abandoned grenade found in pond to police station

Khan Md. A. Majid : An old grenade during the liberation war has been recovered at Alfadanga in Faridpur. The grenade was found while fishing in a pond in Dhalerchar village of the upazila.
Ibrahim Sheikh, son of Yunus Sheikh, a resident of the village, handed over the grenade to the police station on Sunday night (June 19).Police and locals said Yunus Sheikh, a resident of Dhalerchar village in Sadar union of the upazila, saw the grenade while fishing in a pond near his house. .He later recovered it and submitted it to the police station. The grenade is thought to have been fired during the 1971 war.Chairman of Sadar Union Parishad AKM Ahadul Hasan Ahad said in this regard, I have heard it in public. But the details are not known.
Alfadanga police officer in charge (OC) said. Wahiduzzaman said that a young man named Ibrahim Sheikh submitted the grenade to the police station at night. Legal action is being taken in this regard.
