Fire at Shahjibazar Power Generation Center

Two power transformers have been burnt to ashes in a terrible fire at Shahjibazar 330 MW power station in Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj. At around 11:30 am on Sunday, six unions of the fire service came to control the fire after an hour and a half effort. Earlier, two large transformers caught fire inside the power plant at around 10 am.  Upon receiving the news of the incident, six units of the fire service started extinguishing the fire.  Dao dao the fire continues to burn.  The surrounding area is covered with black smoke. Md. Manik, an employee of the power station, said that the fire started with a sudden noise.  Immediate officers and employees came out of the office and saw a fire going on in the power plant.  It was not immediately clear how the fire started. Local resident Shamsul Alam Ujwal said the area was darkened by the black smoke of the fire.  The people of the house started running in different directions in fear.  Habiganj Fire Service Deputy Assistant Director Shimul.  Rafi said that six units of the fire service came to control the fire after an hour and a half effort.  The cause of the fire is not yet known.
