Madaripur in RAB-8 arrested two traders with 38 kg of cannabis

Md. Roman Bepary: A special expedition team of Madaripur RAB-8, CPC-3, Madaripur Camp led by Company Commander, Squadron Leader Mohammad Sadequl Islam conducted an operation and arrested two traders with 38 kg of cannabis. On Friday (May 27) at around 4:30 pm, RAB-8 conducted the operation at a place called Pakhira, Ward No. 8, Pankka Road, east of Achmat Ali Khan Bridge Toll Plaza in Khoajpur Union of Madaripur Sadar Upazila. The arrested are Mituar Rahman (38), son of Md. Abul Kashem of Narail district and Md. Shajahan Sheikh (35), son of late Ali Haider Sheikh. During this time 38 kg of cannabis, 01 pickup used for drug transport, 03 mobiles used for buying and selling drugs, 04 SIM cards and cash of Rs. 15,300 / – (fifteen thousand three hundred) were recovered from the arrested accused. It is learned from the interrogation that both of them are professional drug dealers and they have been using the Chandpur-Madaripur-Kalna-Narail route from Comilla to Narail and Jessore districts for a long time to buy and sell narcotic cannabis. The recovered cannabis along with the arrested accused was handed over to Madaripur Sadar Model Police Station. Mohammad Sadequl Islam, Company Commander-Squadron Leader of Madaripur RAB-8, CPC-3 camp, said the two arrested cannabis traders have been handed over to Madaripur Sadar Model Police Station. At the same time a drug case has been filed in their name. Besides, such activities of RAB-8 will continue in future also.
