Shyamal-Kabir’s slogan at rally demanding release of Khaleda

Sohail Ahad, Brahmanbaria Correspondent: Engineers Khaled Hossain Mahbub Shyamal and Kabir Ahmed at the Brahmanbaria district BNP’s rally demanding release of BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and proper medical treatment abroad, only chanted their slogans. Though a rally was scheduled to be held at Fulbaria Community Center in the city at 3 pm on Saturday, Deputy Commissioner Hayat-ud-Daulah Khan issued Section 144 at the same place to keep the situation normal as the district BCL had announced the founding anniversary at the same time. In such a situation, the district police arrested the district BNP convener and three senior leaders. To make the district BNP’s previously announced rally a success, the BNP leaders and workers left the city and walked 8/10 km to Battali Bazar in the suburban Union Natai North to gather at the rally site. The only road in Ashuganj Lalpur at the intersection of Birasa was blocked by the district police with sand trucks. Basir Mia, an autorickshaw driver on Lalpur Road, did not accept the issue of road closure. In the same way, Sumaiya Akhter, a passenger college student, said, “Even though we live in an independent country, we are not able to express our thoughts freely.” Brahmanbaria Sadar Circle Mohammad Mozammel Hossain Reza said sand trucks are not being kept here. He has confirmed that they will leave.
