Online Desk: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-13) arrested two alleged drug traders with 1,105 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets from different places in Lalmonirhat and Kurigram last night. “An operational team of RAB-13 conducted separate raids, seized the Yaba tablets and arrested the drug traders,” said a press release issued by Acting Company Commander ASP Md. Ahsan Habib of Crime Prevention Specialised Company of RAB-13. The elite force arrested drug trader Shariful Islam, 28, of village Char Chatura in Haragachh Thana of Rangpur Metropolitan Police from Gokunda area in Sadar upazila of Lalmonirhat district with 615 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets. Besides, the elite force arrested drug trader Manik Chandra Roy, 42, of village Naodanga in Phulbari upazila Kurigram from his village and seized 490 pieces of Yaba tablets, one mobile phone set, two SIM cards and one memory card from his possession. During interrogation, the arrested persons admitted their involvement with trading of drugs and narcotics substances for a long time in their respective areas. “After filing two separate cases in these connections against the arrested persons, the elite force handed them over to Lalmonirhat Sadar Thana police in Lalmonirhat and Phulbari Thana police in Kurigram today,” the release added.
