Monir Hossain: US Ambassador to Bangladesh Earl Robert Miller praised the way Bangladesh government stands beside the Rohingya, said the US government’s support for Bangladesh will continue. Responding to the question of journalists at the office of the Divisional Commissioner on the first day of the three-day visit to Barisal, the US Ambassador further said that the United States wants to bring justice for the people who are responsible for torturing Rohingya. The US government wants to keep the Rohingyas safe and respectful in continuing to pursue Myanmar with international communities. The Ambassador further said that the United States is working with importance to solve the Rohingya problem. To ensure the return of Rohingya, security environment will be created first. On that afternoon, US Ambassador Barisal Divisional Commissioner Ramchandra Das and DIG Shafiqul Islam met with courtesy. Deputy Commissioner SM Aujir Rahman, Superintendent of Police Md Saiful Islam and senior officials of the administration were also present. On Wednesday morning, Ambassador Earl Robert Miller visited Bhandariya in Pirojpur district. At noon he visited the floating guava market in Vimaruli in Jhalokati district. In the afternoon Ambassador Bangladesh Radio participated in radio interview in Barisal and visited the traditional Mian Bazar Mosque of Barisal. On Thursday morning, Ambassador will visit the Oxford Mission Church of Barisal City, Fisheries Offshore Station, Jahanara Israel School and College and Shahid Abdur Rab of C & B Road in the city to visit Serniabat Textile Engineering College. Later, the Ambassador of Barisal Airport will leave for Dhaka at 4:30 pm.
