Pabna Correspondent:Five people have been sentenced to life imprisonment and two for the murder of Abu Sayeed murder case in Pabna. Judge Rustam Ali of Pabna Additional District and Dera Judge Court-1 gave the verdict on Wednesday noon.
The convicts are Abdus Salam alias Khokon, son of Abdul Latif of Kumarkari Biswhiparara of the Atikeullah thana of the district, Shahin Biswas, son of Abdul Latif Biswas of the same village, Masud Rana, son of Nizam Uddin of Ariadangi village, Shukur Ali Molla, son of Aziz Mollah of Tutivandh village, and Saiful, son of Abdur Razzak of the same area. Islam alias Kanchan. Salim Uddin, son of Salim Uddin of Bhabanipur and Altaf Hossain, son of Tashir Uddin Mia of Sujanagar Police Station.
According to the case details, on the night of April 13, 2009, Abu Sayeed from Kumarkari village of Atikula Police station was summoned and killed by his friends. The next day, Rabiul, brother of the deceased, filed a murder case with Atiqula Police Station on 7 people for the accused. The investigation officer of the case Ataiqula Police Station Sub-Inspector Akhtar Ali filed the chargesheet in the court on February 28, 2010, after 7 months of investigation.
After hearing a long hearing and testimony, Additional Judge of Pabna and Judge Rustam Ali of the Judge Court-1 declared the sentence to life imprisonment and fined Tk 500,000 for another one year and six months in prison. The other two people were not found guilty, and their case was acquitted. At the time of the verdict, two accused appeared before the court. Salman Akhter Shilu, the prosecutor’s lawyer, was Ayub Khan Khokon and the lawyer of the prosecution.
