Metropolitan Detective Police recovered 5 thieves CNG auto-rickshaw after carrying out a special operation in two garages in Baklia and Baduttala area of Chittagong city. The police recovered the stolen CNG on Saturday. Earlier on Friday night, two members of the CNG Auto rickshaw thieves were arrested on the basis of confidential information. The arrested are Md. Arafat (24) and Md. Sumon (24)
The city’s detective police inspector (South) Mohammad mentioned that some other members of the group fled the operation. Ilias Khan said, both arrested are professional thieves. Among them, Arafat Shah stole CNG auto-rickshaw from the Mahanad and Sumon areas in the area of Amanat Bridge. After the theft, this stolen auto-rickshaw changed the number plate to different garages of the city and painted them elsewhere.
Based on different allegations, the city’s detective police raided a garrison of a poet at Ranju Mia Lane in Badurtala area under Panchlaish Police Station on Friday night5 auto rickshaw stolen information at the time they arrested the two and informed them about.
According to the information, two auto rickshaws were recovered from the Rizia Autoparts and Engineering Workshop of a Manik Mastri from Bakulia Government School on Saturday and Nurul Islam Mistry’s Garage at Badrtala area on Arakan Road.
Inspector of Police (South) Mohammad Inspector of the city Detective Branch said that the operation of the police is being carried out as well as the arrest of the other members of the gang as well as taking action against the arrested persons Ilias Khan.
