On the occasion of upcoming parliamentary elections in the meeting of the Chittagong Divisional Law-Discipline Committee, he gave this direction. The meeting was held on Tuesday afternoon with Returning Officer, Assistant Returning Officer, Divisional level officers of the law and order body at Chittagong Circuit House. District administration, police, BGB, Coast Guard, RAB, Election Commission, Divisional and district level officials were present in the meeting.
In the Eleventh national election, the officials of Chittagong Division of the Department of Law and order, the top officials of the Chittagong Division, highlighted the preparations for preparing law and order situation. Divisional Commissioner Abdul Mannan said, “If people are assured of creating a fair environment for elections beforehand, they will easily go to the polling station and will be able to vote themselves. We will do public safety by holding elections in the month of January-December, and after one month, till January, 100 percent control of law and order.
He also said that law and order situation in Chittagong division is in control. So that this situation prevails till the election, we made it a promise. All the people are aware of the fact that no corpus can create any kind of unpleasant or unstable situation. Do not let any chaos prevail.
Returning Officer Abdul Mannan said, the meeting also discussed the use of legal and illegal weapons. Illegal use of legal weapons is sometimes used. So do a list of legitimate weapons. It is being investigated whether the legitimate weapon is given to him or not. And the operation to recover illegal weapons is going on.
DIG Khandaker Faruque Ahmed said, “We have fought hard with the cooperation of the people with militancy.” But we cannot claim that it has been completely eradicated. Keeping ahead of the election due to domestic and international conspiracy, militancy cannot be raised, we are careful that nobody can try to foil the election.
Senior officials of police, Coast Guard and BGB officials spoke on behalf of the law enforcement agencies in the meeting.
BGB’s zonal zone commander Abdul Aziz said that the BGB is ready to carry out the responsibilities in the interest of free, fair and neutral elections. The BGB has already made preparations for them.
