Shakib Al Hasan, Test and Twenty20 captain of the national cricket team, has changed his decision about taking the Awami League nomination in the forthcoming parliamentary elections. Today, his party’s nomination paper was about to buy. Earlier, Shakib himself had said about his interest in the election, saying he would submit his nomination papers for the Magura-1 constituency.
Shakib Al Hasan said on Saturday night, ‘I have changed the decision. I will not select. ‘When asked about the decision to change the decision now, Shakib Al Hasan did not make any comment.
One of the ODIs from Narail, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, is also heard from the Awami League. There is a buzz; he will also collect nomination papers this morning.
Although the information was not confirmed by Mashrafe, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that both Shakib and Mashrafe will collect the nomination papers on Sunday.
Earlier, on 29 May of this year, Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal gave a glimpse of the selection of cricketer Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Shakib Al Hasan. The next day, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said, “Shakib and Mashrafe will not be active in politics before the next World Cup.”
