Under the Ministry of Relief and Disaster Management, Banskhali Upazila Project Implementation Office has been accused of widespread irregularities in the implementation of rural road infrastructure development. This irregularity has also been seen in the work of Maizpara road of Bahharchara Union. Road work is not completed in 8 months.
Though the work of Maizpara was started in 3 packages at the cost of 84 lakh taka, the contracting companies have dug a hole in the work of brick field in Chapachhari West Banshkhali High School. It causes traffic, school-college students, thousands of people walking in the area. In order to investigate the irregularities of the work, the conscious clerk has demanded to the senior authority.
According to local sources, for the development of rural road infrastructure, the government has asked the tender for the road work in the 2016-17 fiscal years under the Ministry of Relief and Disaster Management. In the tender for the lowest bidder, at the cost of Taka 84 lakh, 3 groups of M / s Ziaul Haque Maizbahara Contracting Company will get the job. In this work, two parts of Maijpara Road and West Banshkhali School Road and a simple part of the work is spent 84 lakhs rupees for the brick kiln. After the tender call in February, the contracting company started work, but stopped midway. From the road adjacent to the Maijpara Government Primary School, freedom fighter Foyez Ahmad Chowdhury made a 200-foot road brick fencing up to the gates of the house, leaving the contractor dead. As a result of unfinished work, thousands of people in Maizpara area are suffering from communication. Road traffic through rickshaw-cycle, heavy vehicular movement is closed.
It is found in the area that, after leaving the brick kiln work on the Maijpara road, the holes in the two holes were sinking in the mud. Kachurapana sprouts in some places. Local residents were seen walking through the house and stopping the water from the pond to muddy the mud. The locals complained that the sand was not used during the stretch of the road. The work of Chapachhari School Road is incomplete. The area’s resident Abu Salak said, there is no end to the hardships of people for 8-9 months. The brick road did not allow sand. Sand was not used in fired bricks. Nasima Akhter, a student of Maijpara Government Primary School, said, “I do not know when the road work is going to be done.
Locals Monjurul Alam and Madrasa student Monwara Begum said that the contractor left the work without spreading the bricks and 8 months. The water accumulated in the streets was flabby. Many people are catching fish in the accumulation of water. There is no problem in man’s movement with little edge of the pond. Students and elderly people were also injured in the mud and were injured. There is no notice of the suffering of patients in the journey. During the rainy season, the area of 1 kilometer has to be kept in contact. Every day the students of primary school are falling into the mud.
Baharchora Union Parishad Chairman Tajul Islam said that the local people for the better communication system of the locality Mustafizur Rahman Chowdhury arranged tender for the development of the road. After getting the contractor working, 3 people have sold their work in different ways. Do not shed the streets, the brick value is not good, the supervision is necessary. Road closure is a kind of stoppage of sub-contractors leaving half the work. Due to the departure of the work contractor of Maijpara School Road and Chapachhari West Banshkhali High School Road, half of the work was done in the Upazila Parishad’s monthly meeting. But there were no results yet.
Engineer of Banshkhali Project Implementation Office said that the contracting firm has not yet received the full payment. Contractor got the bill running. If the job is incomplete then the final bill will not be received. Banshkhali Upazila Chairman Zahirul Islam said the project implementation officer has been asked to work quickly with the contractor.
