Two drug dealers killed in a gunfight with police in Teknaf the deceased were: Ward no 7 of Teknaf municipality Hashim’s son Hasan Ali (35) and son of Nurul Alam of Nazirpara area of Teknaf Sadar. Hossain Prakash Kamal (23). Md. Husain Prakash Kamal Yaba Palli, the leader of Bhutto Bahini, and Bhutto’s nephew of Nazirpara. At the time, six localized LG, 25 round cartridge and a huge quantity of yaba were recovered. Three policemen were injured in the gunfight. The gunfight took place in Katbania Jhabbagan area of Sabarang union under Teknaf upazila around 5am on Sunday.
Teknaf Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Pradip Kumar Das confirmed the incident of gunfight and said that a team of police team led by a team of Yuba businessmen was arrested in Katbania Zhabbagan area of Sabarang union under Teknaf upazila on Sunday 28 October. Meanwhile, police found out the presence of the police fired Yaba traders targeting the police. Police also shot back for self-defense. At one stage of the shootings Yaba traders escaped. Later, two bodies were found in the spot. The bodies of the dead were sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy. There are several cases under the Narcotics Control Act against the victims. Three policemen injured in the operation are: SI Raju Ahmad Gazi, ASI Mithun Chandra Bhowmik and Constable Ibrahim Khalil. They were admitted to Teknaf Hospital.
