Zaman denies, Mainul in prison general ward

Barrister Mainul Hossain’s bail plea has been rejected in a defamation case filed against journalist Masuda Bhatti on ‘hate crime’ in a talk show of private television. On Tuesday, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Kaisarul Haque rejected the bail and sent Moinul to jail.
Moinul was arrested at around 9:30 pm from the residence of National Socialist Party (AJS) Leader of the House of Awami League on Monday at a DB office for interrogation in a case filed in Rangpur. Barrister Moinul Hossain’s lawyer appealed for bail in defamation case if he was taken to the court of Metropolitan Magistrate yesterday. The court refused to accept bail application and sent him to jail.
Meanwhile, Mahbub Alam of Dhaka Central Jail district said Barrister Mainul Hossain was kept in the general ward along with the general prisoners of Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj. Barrister Mainul Hussain was taken to the jail from the court three to ten minutes yesterday. The Central Jail district further said, according to the jail code, he is not eligible for Vision. According to the rules, he (Barrister Mainul Hossain) was kept in the general ward.
Barrister Mainul Hossain, commentator Masuda Bhatti, commented on a talk show recently in Ekatera Television. After that, he got a storm of criticism and criticism of social media. On Monday, human rights activist Mili Maya filed a defamation suit against Barrister Mainul Hossain in Rangpur on Monday. He is a resident of Maltul Mahalla of Rangpur city. Moinul has to go to jail as an accused in this case.
At least six cases have been filed so far against caretaker government adviser Barrister Mainul Hossain. In the case of the two cases, he got bail from the High Court for the next 5 months.
That’s why Mainul was arrested
Law Minister Anisul Haque said the women’s society would be angry if Mainul Hossain was not arrested after the court warrant. Because of the court warrant he was arrested. He said this while participating in a seminar at Dhaka University yesterday. The University’s Political Science Association organized the seminar. The law minister said, he (Moinul Hossain) talked a lot in the talk show against the government. But we did not arrest him. He was arrested when the court gave warrant. If the law-enforced forces did not arrest the women’s society would have been angry. Such statements would have been encouraged. That is why he was arrested on the basis of arrest warrant, said the law minister.
