The country’s first solar park has been launched in Teknaf, the largest solar park in the country. From here, for the first time, solar power has been added to the national transmission grid. In this, new doors of possibilities have opened up in the country’s power sector. Private power generation company (IPP) Jules Power Limited (JPL) has implemented this solar power plant of 20 MW.
The Teknaf Upazila will provide 80 percent of the total electricity needs of the consumers, from this solar power plant. Starting September 11, starting from September 11, for the first time since September 13, the nation started generating electricity. A 20-megawatt project is a great project as a solar power. It is sure to be officially inaugurated by the Prime Minister.
It is learned that according to the plan of power sector-2010, 50 years ago, the plan to upgrade the capacity of the country’s power generation capacity to 24 thousand megawatt has been taken. To this end, the target of generating 2 thousand 900 MW electricity from 20,000 MW and 2021 between the renewable energy sector has been set. Of these, 1,460 megawatts have been able to produce solar power. Various projects have already been taken in order to increase the capacity of renewable energy. The Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) has 34 solar parks or solar power plants under the sustainable and renewable energy development authority (DRDO) and individual companies. One of these projects is a 20 MW power solar park of Jules Power Limited in Teknaf.
Regarding the project, director (operations) Ryan Moyen, said, “It is very happy and proud to stand beside the country through clean energy to counter the impact of global warming and climate change. Chairman of Power Development Board Khaled Mahmud said, “We have many projects. Which can not be launched without being started But in the meantime, the project was completed within the stipulated time. They have started generating electricity on national grid for the first time since September 13.
On the spot, the location of the power station on the east side of the Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf highway in Alikhali area of ​​Hannala Union of Teknaf upazila. 87 thousand solar panels have been installed in the rows of Naf river. There are five sub-stations in the middle of these panels. At the same time, some roads have been constructed for the project. The 20 MW electricity produced from these solar panels was first placed at the main station. It will be provided in subdivision of rural electricity situated in the laddha of Hannala Union.
Power Secretary  Ahmad Kaikaus said, “The test operation will end in a couple of days. After that the commercial launch date will be set. A 20-megawatt project is a great project as a solar power. So it will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister.
