Thailand eager to invest in BD

 Thai business delegation held a meeting with the board of directors of Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) at its conference room in Dhaka yesterday. 
Thailand entrepreneurs yesterday expressed their eagerness to invest in the vital sectors of Bangladesh as its government has  to ensure trade and investment-friendly environment in the country.
They came up with the interest when a 14-member Thai business delegation, led by Deputy Executive Director of the International Institute for Trade and Development (ITD) of Thailand Manu Sithiprasasana, yesterday called on the board of directors of Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) at its conference room in Dhaka.
FBCCI President M Shafiul Islam (Mohiuddin) presided over the discussion while top ranking government officials of different ministries and the FBCCI directors were present, said a press release. During the meeting, they discussed various bilateral issues, including  expansion of trad and business.
Mohiuddin said FBCCI is working with the government to create business- friendly environment in the country. “The bilateral trade with Thailand could not yet reach to a desired goal. Thailand can invest in vital sectors of this country by taking the lucrative offers, like tax holiday, duty free benefits for export and corporate tax exemption,” he added.
He mentioned that the Thai Investors can avail themselves of the the opportunity of investing in the 100 Special Economic Zones across the country. “Bangladesh is an attractive destination for the Thai investors,” Manu Sithiprasasana said, adding that Thai government has also laid stress to take the bilateral trade relations into a new horizon.
