Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim are two Bangladeshi players in the Afghanistan Premier League (APL) team. The team named after ‘Nangarhar’ got the opportunity to play through the auction. However, no one has yet to accept Mohammad Ashraful, who came back from the ban in Gold category.
Tamim was in the ‘Diamond’ category. In this category foreign player’s remuneration is Tk 63 lakh. And in the ‘Silver’ class, Mushfiq bought 25 lakh taka. Icon players in the squad include West Indies’ Andre Russell.
A total of 350 cricketers were picked up in domestic and foreign at the auction in Dubai on Monday.
The Afghans Premier League is going to be held in the United Arab Emirates on October 5-23, where there are more Sabbir Rahman, Abul Hasan Raju, Taskin Ahmed, Mohammad Saifuddin and Junaid Siddiqui.
The players of this league are Rashid Khan, Brandon McCullum, Shahid Afridi, Chris Gayle, Shoaib Malik and Andre Russell.
The teams of five provinces participating in the 19-day tournament are: Kabul, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Paktia and Balak. All the matches in the tournament will be played at the Sharjah International Stadium in the UAE.
