A forest worker was killed and three other forest workers were injured in the incident caused by an illegal house breaking down by a forest worker at Hasnabad in Fatikchhari.

In this incident, Bhujpur Police arrested nine people in the drive till yesterday evening. Contradictions have been found in this regard. There is tension tension in the area. The deceased Abdus Salam (52) is known as Hasnabad Beet’s Forest Inspector. He is a son of Kutub Uddin of Nagarpur Police Station in Tangail district. Hassanabad range officer Khasrul Amin of forest department said that on 5th September, a group of forest workers under his leadership prevented locals from breaking the pucca house of an Imdu Mia on the forest department land in Hatimara village of Hasnabad area under the said range. But the people of forest department did not want to break the bar, and the local people attacked them with sticks. Abdus Salam (52) was killed in the attack and other forest dwellers, Chadek Mia (45), Abul Kalam (50), Md. Mamun (45) was seriously injured. Three injured people have been sent to the hospital for treatment. In the face of local people’s attack, other people of the forest department fled and escaped alive, he said.
Meanwhile, Bhujpur Police Station OC (Investigation) Helal Uddin Faruqi said that the forest officials killed the forest worker and three others injured when locals attacked the house of Imdu Miah. He said no one has yet complained about the forest workers’ attack on one elderly wounded.
Meanwhile, the owner of the house Emdu Mia, Fatikchhari, a ‘one house one farm’ project officer. Nazrul Islam said that they have been living by building a walled wall from its grandfather’s work since 1938. Recently they left the verandah of the clay and constructed a semi-arched porch, and in it there was now a tin roof. But in the meantime, Hasnabad forest officer Atiqul Islam demanded a huge amount of money. Nazrul Islam went to the bit office on 4th September and at Atulkul Islam gave 10,000 rupees to him, he threw it. Of course, he promised to pay more than ten thousand taka with the promise to give more money. On the last day (incident day) Atiqul Islam, for more money in the morning, Nazrul could not pay the money and he could not pay the money, he came to his work place at Fatikchari Sadar. In this, people of forest department went to his house at around 11:30 pm and broke the wall of his balcony. At that time, Nazrul’s mother Fatima Begum (80), Nazrul Islam said that the forest department kicked him and beat him severely when he was intercepted. At present, the woman is undergoing treatment at the Chemek Hospital. On the way from the forest department, the forest worker Abdus Salam was killed in a motorcycle accident at Monowarkhail, and he was injured by Chaddek Mia, from a distance of his house. He demanded to investigate the matter.
Meanwhile, Fatikchhari Upazila Chairman M Towhidul Alam Babu, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Dipak Kumar Roy, Hathazari Circle Assistant SP Abdullah Al Masum, Chittagong North Forest Officer Bakhteer Noor Siddiqui, OC of Bhujpur Police informed that a forest worker was killed and another injured in the attack. Baye Alam and others rushed to the spot. When asked about the upazila chairman M Towhidul Alam Babu on the spot, he said that it is not acceptable to be beaten by killing a government employee and seriously injuring three other forest workers. He or she who is involved in the incident demanded justice for bringing them under the law.
Meanwhile, Bhujpur Police Station OC investigation Helal Uddin Farooqi said that after the incident, the house owner Imdu Mia has arrested nine people including his son, son and wife. The arrestees are: Bibi Rahima (30), Bibi Mariam (40), Hafiza Akhter (20), Monoara Akhter (16), Priyanka Akhter (20), Rokeya Begum (60), Jharna Akhter (18). Police operations in the area are continuing, he said.
