PM mourns death of Rama Chowdhury


In a condolence message, the Prime Minister recalled her sacrifice and struggle for the great Liberation War.
She prayed for the peace of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family.
Born at Popadia village in Boalkhaliupazila in 1941, Rama Chowdhuryfell prey to perverted Pakistani military forces at her residence on May 13, 1971 during the Liberation War.
The freedom fighter, who lost her two sons during the Liberation War, wielded her pen and wrote 19 books, including novel, poetry, articles, alongside teaching in high schools.
Rama Chowdhury died at Chittagong Medical College Hospital early Monday at the age of 78.
Rama Chowdhury had been suffering from illness since she sustained fracture in her waist after she fell down at her residence in Boalkhali upazila of Chittagong on December 24, 2017.
