Action needed against those who led slogans in favor of Razakar: Foreign Minister

Staff Reporter :
Foreign Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr. Hasan Mahmud said that legal action should be taken against those who led slogans in favor of Razakar in the name of quota movement.

He said this while addressing the chief guest at the meeting of Dhaka District Awami League on the occasion of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s imprisonment day on July 16 at the Dhaka District Awami League office in Tezgaon of the capital on Tuesday afternoon.

Hasan Mahmud said that when some students started protesting about quota reforms in government jobs, BNP-Jamaat had inserted their ‘planted’ people and were trying to turn the anti-quota movement into an anti-state, anti-government movement. That’s why there are slogans in favor of Razakar in Dhaka University.

He said, those who are doing this movement, they do not want to obey the constitution of the country. In the constitution, there is a matter of giving special benefits to the backward groups of the country for inclusion in the activities of the state.

Mentioning that the issue of quota is now under the jurisdiction of the court, Minister Hasan said that the notification given by the government to cancel the quota system in sympathy with the students, the High Court canceled it due to the case of a person who was aggrieved, the Supreme Court again gave a stay on it. That is, it is a matter pending in court. If the government does anything about it, it will be contempt of court and unconstitutional.

“Despite understanding this, the planted people of BNP-Jamaat are misunderstanding the common students, using emotions and feelings to speak against the government, against the state and even against the leader Sheikh Hasina,” he said.

Referring to the speech made by the leader Sheikh Hasina in the press conference after her recent visit to China, the foreign minister said that the government has nothing to do about it when the matter is under trial in the court. The government will act according to the directions given by the court.

Hasan said, despite understanding this, the slogans and agitations are contempt of court, pointing fingers at the constitution, slapping the spirit of the liberation war. So the identification of those who led the slogans for Razakar is underway. I firmly believe, to uphold the spirit of the liberation war, legal action should be taken against them to protect the dignity of the law courts.

Besides, he said, today the women students are standing on the streets to protect the women quota, the children of freedom fighters are standing for the freedom fighter quota, small ethnic groups including Chakma-Marma are also standing for their quota.

Mentioning that Awami League should guard the country at this time, the foreign minister said that those who wanted to rig the election are sometimes entering quotas and sometimes oil and gas without being able to do so. And we are on the streets before the election, we are not sitting at home because we have won, now we have to guard the country. When the anti-liberation war, anti-national forces are conspiring against the country, are trying to mislead the youth, are trying to attack the altar of the spirit of the liberation war, we have to be on the streets to stop them and guard the country.

‘Sheikh Hasina is the only protesting voice in the freedom movement of democracy’

Earlier, on the occasion of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s imprisonment day on July 16, 2007, Awami League’s joint general secretary Hasan Mahmud said that Begum Khaleda Zia was in power when the One-Eleven government seized power with anti-corruption slogans. But they did not arrest Begum Zia first. People’s leader Sheikh Hasina has been arrested. Because Sheikh Hasina is the only protesting voice against injustice and corruption and in the liberation movement of democracy.

He said, on this day in 2007, Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina was arrested without a warrant. The government of One-Eleven seized power with anti-corruption slogans, but when it was seen that they themselves are drowning in corruption, injustice is happening in the country, pregnant women are being arrested for the crime of the husband, the daughter is being arrested for the crime of the father, democracy is being taken away, then the leader Sheikh Hasina He protested.

Dr. Hasan said the One-Eleven government was effectively a military regime in civilian clothing. And those who occupied various positions in that government, they were tenants, they went to pay the rent of the military-backed government. There are many such people, who sit waiting for the opportunity, when to rent.

The Foreign Minister said that since the government of One-Eleven had shackled the feet of democracy, Bangabandhu, the leader of the democracy liberation movement, was first arrested and kept in such a secluded room that the leader of the people, Sheikh Hasina, was repeatedly falling ill and we had no chance to see her except when she was taken to the hospital or court. was not

Hashan Mahmud reminded that BN leader Khaleda Zia was also released by the way our workers protested after the arrest of People’s Leader Sheikh Hasina. And during Sheikh Hasina’s imprisonment, the late President Zillur Rahman played a major role in keeping the party united by saving it from disintegration.

Dhaka District Awami League President Bir Muktijoddha Benazir Ahmed MP presided over the meeting and general secretary Paniruzzaman Tarun conducted the meeting, Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman Fazlur Rahman MP Hon.
