Goalanda Ghat Police Station has arrested a young man named Md. Riaz (25) in a case of injuring a person with a sharp knife on the main road of Goalanda Bazar at 10 am on Tuesday.
In a press release on Saturday (March 1), Goalanda Ghat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Rakibul Islam confirmed the matter in a press release.
The arrested accused is Md. Riaz (25) is the son of Md. Liton of Juran Mollar Para in the upazila.
It is learnt that on February 25, at 10 am, some youths chased a person named Masud with a sharp knife on the main road of Goalanda Bazar and slashed his throat. At that time, the injured youth took shelter in a school on the side of the road. At that time, people caught him and admitted him to the Upazila Health Complex, and the emergency department doctor referred him to Faridpur Medical. Injured Masud Sardar is still fighting with death, causing panic among the people. A case was filed with Goalanda Ghat Police Station the next day in this incident. After that, the police launched a raid after seeing the CCTV footage.
Goalanda Ghat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Rakibul Islam said that based on a secret tip-off, SI (retd) Md. Rustam Ali along with a joint force arrested him from in front of a motorcycle garage of a certain Liton at around 8 pm on Friday. He has been sent to the Rajbari Magistrate’s Court today, Saturday. The raid is underway to arrest the remaining accused.
